The Hynniewtrep People’s Federation (HPF) of Meghalaya has demanded the Conrad Sangma led State Government to resolve the long pending border issue in Ri-Bhoi district with parent state of Assam.
Concerned over the border disputes, the HPF, Ri Bhoi district unit, formed the Tyrso Circle with a view to strengthen the presence of the organization in border areas of Assam and Meghalaya.
The president of the new circle is Jesril Mangu, vice-president Phardes Mangu besides other members.
The leaders of the circle have also expressed disappointment over the alleged encroachment of Meghalaya’s land by Assam through setting up of a police outpost at Umru.
