A train driver died of electrocution at Guwahati Railway Station on Tuesday night, a railway official said.
The incident took place around 8:25 pm, said the official.
The driver has been identified as Siva Saikia, a resident of upper Assam’s Golaghat district.
As per reports, the driver came in contact with a high voltage wire when he had gone to check the engine of Guwahati- Murkongselek Lachit Express at platform number 7 of the station.
He was charred to death within minutes.
Railway staff shifted him to a hospital where he was declared dead by doctors.
