Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Babul Supriyo has tested positive for COVID-19.

This is for the third time that singer-turned-politician Babul Supriyo has tested COVID positive.

Some of the family members of Babul Supriyo have also tested positive for COVID-19.

Family members of Supriyo have expressed concern over the highly expensive antibody cocktail therapy prescribed by the doctors.

Babul Supriyo said: “Me, my wife, dad, multiple staff, have all tested positive, but my concern is the superhigh Rs 61000/- price of the cocktail jab that needs to be given SOS to seriously ill COVID-19 patients. Dad who is 84, needed the jab SOS and I have to buy it on-the-spot. How can the EWS afford it?”

“Since even the fully vaccinated are not immune fresh infections, government must act quickly to make this jab available in Govt hospitals simultaneously along with the ongoing vaccination drive. Vaccination is must but the cocktail is the need of the hour,” Supriyo said.

He added: “And, this is my third time. First in November 20 when I lost my Maa and somehow saved my dad, then again in April 21 and now not really worried about the positiveness but the sheer number of individuals who got contracted and no way to find out who gave it to whom.”
