A gang of four allegedly robbed a shop in Golaghat’s Uriamghat using a scissor on Monday night.

As per a police source, the gang of four had executed the robbery in the evening.

The four persons had come into the shop asking for a 10 inch bolt and after getting the bolt, one of them took out a scissor and threatened the shopkeeper to give out all the cash.

According to the shopkeeper, he gave all the cash to the “robbers” that he collected during the which was estimated to be Rs 30-40 thousand.

After getting the cash, the gang tried to flee from the spot but the locals succeeded in apprehending one of them.

The police informed that the apprehended person has been identified as Naren Baruah alias Sonu a resident of Merapani in Golaghat.

The police also recovered Rs 11,350 and a bolt from his possession.

However, Sonu has denied being involved in the robbery and claimed that he was only with them as he knew one of them.

The police further informed that they have collected the details of the other accused and soon all they will be arrested.
