A woman, hailing from Chapru district in Bihar, has been found dead at a hotel in Sikkim’s Gangtok. 

The deceased woman has been identified as 27-year-old Rekha Singh. 

Meanwhile, her husband – Kumar Gyaneshwar is reported to be missing. 

The couple had checked into the hotel on December 27. 

They were supposed to check-out on Thursday afternoon.

But, after the couple did not appear at the reception of the hotel to check-out on Thursday, the hotel staff visited the room of the couple to enquire about their stay. 

On not responding to the repeated knocking at the door, the hotel management informed the police. 

Later, when police entered into the room by opening the door with a spare key, they found the body of the woman in the bed. 

The missing husband was last seen by the hotel staff on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the woman’s body has been sent to the STNM hospital in Gangtok for autopsy. 

On the other hand, Sikkim police has launched an investigation into the incident and has informed the Bihar police about the incident and the missing husband.
