HOJAGIRI OF TRIPURA
Performance of Tripura's Hojagiri Dance.

The North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Dimapur in collaboration with the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs of Tripura has started Bharat Ko Jaano – a 3-day Chain Yatra festival in different locations of Tripura.

The festival is being organised under the ‘National Cultural Exchange programme’.

The event, which features folk and tribal dances, is aimed at reaching out to the rural and urban areas.

Such events are being organised to create awareness about the rich cultural diversity of the country and promote national integration through culture.

The programme is being organised in different places of Tripura including Udaipur, Jirania and Agartala.

The inaugural day of the festival was held at Rajashri Kala Kshetra of Udaipur from 6:30 pm on Monday.

The folk artistes from various states have showcased their colourful folk dances and musical-cultural performances during the festival.

Juju Jaja Dance from Arunachal Pradesh, Bihu Dance from Assam, Seraikela Chhau Dance from Jharkhand, Pung Cholom & Dhol Cholom and Stick Dance from Manipur, Ghudka Sambalpuri Dance by team Odisha, folk and tribal music and songs & dances of Tripura have been presented in the festival, said a NEZCC press statement.

The second day’s performances of the festival will be held in the Agnibina Community Hall of Jirania.

The closing day of the Bharat Ko Jaano Festival will be held at Dr. BR Ambedkar English Model School Community Hall of West Ananda Nagar in Agartala from 12 noon onwards.

The participating artistes’ troupes are from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Jharkhand, Manipur, Odhisa & local cultural troupes of Tripura.
