North East Sunsilk Guwahati

The grand finale of the 18th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East will be held on December 29 at the ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa from 5 pm onwards.

This was announced by the organisers during a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday.

Mega Entertainment, a noted fashion and pageant event organizer in the Northeast, announced the dates of the grand finale of the 18th edition of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East at the press conference.

The press conference was addressed by fashion entrepreneur and founder of Mega Entertainment Abhijit Singha, Mega Miss Northeast 2018 Jyotishmita Baruah and Dipika Devi, the official designer of Mega Entertainment.

“The grand finale of the 18th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East will be held on December 29 at the ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa from 5 pm onwards,” Abhijit Singha said.

The pageant has been supported by title sponsor Sunsilk ‘Dream On, Shine On, With Sunsilk Thick & Long’ in association with Eyetex Dazzler, hospitality partner Radisson Blu, shopping partner Sohum and jewellery partner L. Gopal Jewellers (a unit of Jagmohan Soni) located at Christian Basti and Kalapahar.

Announcing the 18th edition of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East, Abhijit Singha said, “We are so glad to be back with the most-awaited beauty pageant of Northeast.”

“And the most unique aspect of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East this year is that we will have not one, but three winners! There will be no runners-up and all the three top contestants will be crowned equally, along with the same prize packages,” Singha added.

Mega Entertainment aims to offer equal opportunity to every young woman to become a force of positive change in the Northeast as a youth icon.

“So, this is a step on our end, to open up more such opportunities for our winners going forward.” Singha further said.

Mega Entertainment has revoked the minimum height criteria for the contestants this year to ensure that every woman who has the talent and confidence to make a mark gets an opportunity to make it big in the world of pageantry.

“The COVID brought on a really difficult time for all of us, and we had to put off our plans of organizing the pageant for an entire year. But that only meant that we got so much more time to prepare and come back even stronger.” Singha said.

“The quality of talent among the contestants is unbelievable this year, and I am sure that our winners will truly make a strong mark in the industry,” Singha added.

The three winners of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East will be crowned equally and will be awarded a prize package worth Rs. 1 lakh each.

Apart from that, they will also win a professional photoshoot by Prashant Brahma Photography, travel opportunities, professional representations, and opportunities to participate in different socio-cultural activities across the Northeast.

The event has been produced by Mega Entertainment and marketed by Mega Activation. The pageant has been powered and conceptualized by fashion entrepreneur Abhijit Singha.

Speaking of her experience with Mega Entertainment, Jyotishmita Baruah said, “Winning Mega Miss North East has been a turning point in my life.”

“The most important part of being in a pageant is learning to accept yourself the way you are and being supportive of your co-contestants. That is what truly brings out your inner beauty and confidence.”

“The things I learnt at Mega Miss North East helped me immensely during my stint at Miss India pageant as well, and in achieving the top-6 spot in that reputed pageant,” Baruah added.

Apart from the main winners, there will also be a series of subtitles that the contestants will be vying for.

The subtitles are Sohum Miss Trendy, Radisson Blu Miss Hospitality, Eyetex Dazller Miss Beautiful Face, Shouthout NE India Miss Tourism North East, Pageant Times Miss Popular and Sunsilk Hair Hacks Diva.

The Top-15 contestants will participate in the Evening Gown presentation, where they will showcase the creations by top fashion designers and brands like Jansai, Karan Thokchom, Arif Mukhim, and the Official Designer of Mega Entertainment Dipika Devi.

The pageant organizers have chosen 50 finalists through a series of auditions held in Shillong, Imphal, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Kohima and Agartala from November 7-13.

The contestants will undergo a strict pre-judging process during their training and grooming sessions, and eventually, 3 women will win the coveted title of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2021.
