Assam on Sunday woke up to the tragic news of demise of “brave and honest” police officer Mosco Saikia.

Mosco Saikia, who was posted as the officer-in-charge of Mangaldoi police station at the time of his demise.

Saikia reportedly had high blood pressure and suddenly collapsed while on duty on Saturday.

He was immediately shifted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH).

However, Saikia breathed his last after suffering a massive cardiac arrest.

Before being posted in Mangaldoi, Saikia had also served in Guwahati.

“Saddened at the demise of Inspector Mosco Saikia of Mangaldoi Police Station. He was an accomplished police officer and a multi-faceted personality,” Assam special DGP GP Singh said.

Senior Assam Police officer Ponjit Dowarah said: “Mosco Saikia’s loss is unbearable. It is a huge loss, personally. All those moments flying on my mind that we had.”
