Top Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has moved an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha over the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. 

Citing the SIT report on Lakhimpur Kheri incident that stated that the ‘killing’ of farmers was a “pre-planned” conspiracy, Rahul Gandhi moved the adjournment motion, demanding sacking of union minister Ajay Mishra. 

Notably, Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish Mishra is the prime accused in the case. 

The SIT has pleaded for addition of “attempt to murder” and other charges against the accused in the case.

At least eight people were killed on October 3 at Lakhimpur Kheri during a farmers’ protest.

Meanwhile, the Opposition has renewed its demand for removal of union minister Ajay Mishra after a special investigation team (SIT) report stated that the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3 was a “pre-planned conspiracy” to kill farmers.
