Rifleman Pranab Jyoti Das of 6 Assam Rifles, who was recently honoured by President Ram Nath Kovind with Shaurya Chakra, was felicitated by Assam food & civil supplies minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass at Pathsala on Saturday.

Rifleman Das was accorded warm greetings and felicitation at his Gobindapur village residence in Assam’s Bajali district on Saturday by various organizations of the locality.

Pranab Jyoti Das, a rifleman of the 6th Regiment of Assam Rifles, was awarded Shaurya Chakra by President Kovind for his excellent and bravery recently.

In 2020, Pranab Jyoti Das guarded his team during an insurgency attack in Arunachal Pradesh with NSCM (IM) and rescued his team member with excellent service where one Assam Rifles braveheart and 6 militants were killed.

The operation was carried out at Longding in Arunachal Pradesh.

Pranab appealed to the the youth of his village to work hard in their respective fields, whether it is sports or others, to bring glory to the place.

Minister Ranjeet Kumar Das felicitated him representing the state government with Gamosa and Sarai.

The minister lauded rifleman Das’ performance and for bringing glory to the new district.

Patacharkuchi Press Club, Pathsala Press Club, some women organisations and local organisations, Pragjyoti High School also felicitated to the rifleman.
