A biker died in a road mishap that took place in Kalachand Bashabari under Maibang Police Station in Dima Hasao district on the National Highway in the evening on Tuesday.
The incident took place at around 7 pm when a youth, who was riding a motorbike in high speed, met with an accident along the National Highway after losing control over his bike.
The youth, who has been identified as Lowai Haflongbar, hailing from Owajo village in the district, died on the spot.
Immediately after the incident, the locals gathered at the spot and informed the police about the mishap.
Arriving at the spot, the police took the victim to the Maibang Rural Hospital.
It may be mentioned that after the National Highway in Dima Hasao, it has been alleged that there has been rapid increase in incidents of road accidents in the district.
Accidents have been taking place on regular basis.
In another road mishap that took place in between Langting and Mupa, a Bolero Pick-up vehicle met with an accident in which the driver was seriously injured.
