A notorious drugs peddler has been injured and re-arrested by the police in Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday morning.
The drugs supplier has been identified as Saijul Islam.
Islam recently managed to get bail in a drugs peddling case.
Saijul Islam hails from Batadrava in Nagaon district in Assam.
Drugs worth over Rs 9 lakh and arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession after the encounter.
Saijul Islam was shot in the leg by the police in the encounter.
“Notorious & Charge Sheeted Drug supplier Siajul Islam of Kodomonigaon, Batadrava had managed to secure Bail. Today morning he got Injured and Re-Arrested after a brief encounter. Drugs worth 9+ Lakh and .22 pistol with 4 Rounds seized,” Nagaon Police in Assam tweeted.
