Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dal party has accused the BJP of vandalising its office in Thowra constituency for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.

“BJP and TMPK goons vandalised the party chief office of the Paschim Panidihing Panchayat,” Raijor Dal said.

The Akhil Gogoi-led party said that rise in cases of vandalism and violence in Assam politics is a testimony to BJP’s implementation of “UP model of governance” in the state.

The rise of this politics of vandalism and violence in Assam against all democratic forces is an implementation of the UP model of BJP governance in Assam,” Raijor Dal said.

It further condemned the “politics of vandalism” saying it is in violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

“We should condemn this politics of vandalism and utter violation of the MCC by the goons of BJP,” Raijor Dal said.

On Tuesday too, the Raijor Dal party had alleged that ‘goons’ of BJP MLA Bhuban Pegu assaulted workers of the party at Kokilamari area in Thowra Assembly constituency in Assam.

The party accused the ruling BJP of using money and muscle power as its last efforts to win the by-polls in Thowra and Mariani seats.

“Scared by the rise of ‘Raijor Dal’, BJP is now making its last efforts to win the by-election in Thowra and Mariani by use of only money and muscle power,” it said.
