The Meghalaya government will discuss the issue of high prices of fuel after the by-elections to three Assembly seats in the state on October 30.
This was informed by Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong in Shillong on Thursday.
Tynsong said, “The government has taken note of it and after the bye-elections, the cabinet will discuss the issue.”
Prestone Tynson further said that Meghalaya was the only state in the entire Northeast to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel by Rs 6.

“We have done our best and it is for the interest of the state and for the interest of everybody,” Tynsong said.
The Meghalaya deputy chief minister further informed that CM Conrad Sangma has already taken up the issue with union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
“The union finance ministry is working out on solutions to the problem,” Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said.
