Tremors were felt in several parts of eastern Assam.
The earthquake was recorded at 11:06am on Thursday.
The epicentre of the earthquake was Lakhimpur district of Assam.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported in the earthquake.
The earthquake was recorded at just 10 kilometres below the earth’s surface.
