The Nagaland health and family welfare department said 10 pregnant women died of Covid19 out of the 91 confirmed positive cases among them in the state so far.
Expressing serious concern over the high Covid mortality rate among pregnant women at 11% in the state, the department, in its weekly bulletin, said none of the Covid19 deaths among them were vaccinated even by a single dose.
Out of the 91 confirmed cases, only one received the first dose, it said.

The department said Covid19 adversely affects the outcome of the newborns apart from high mortality among pregnant women.
Quoting the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the department said pregnant women with symptomatic Covid9 have a 70% increased risk of death.
It said vaccination of pregnant women along with observation of Covid19 appropriate behaviour is highly recommended with the current evidence available.
The bulletin said during the week from October 2-8, a total of 145 positive cases and three deaths were reported in the state.
The state’s overall weekly positivity rate stood at 2.1%.
The department said Covid19 deaths were observed overwhelmingly among the unvaccinated as 98% of deaths were not fully vaccinated while 89% have not received a single dose since the second wave.
It cautioned all to minimize large gatherings and observe Covid19 appropriate behaviour at all times during the coming festive season.
Meanwhile, the state reported eight more Covid positive cases and 25 recoveries on Sunday.
No death was reported due to the infection in the last 24 hours.
Among the new Covid19 cases, Kohima recorded 5, Dimapur 2 and Mokokchung recorded 1 case.
Of the 25 recoveries, Dimapur registered 14, Kohima 5, Mokokchung 3, Kiphire 2 and Longleng 1 recovery.
As of Sunday, the total caseload in the state stood at 31,449 and the active cases at 259.
So far, 656 people died of the infection while 29,505 have recovered from infection.
Altogether 1,014 people have migrated from the state.
