Circle officer of Thelamara in Sonitpur district of Assam – Barenya Ranjan Barthakur has been arrested.
Barthakur has been arrested by the vigilance & anti-corruption department on corruption charges in Guwahati.
The accused – Barenya Ranjan Barthakur – had allegedly instructed a Lat Mandal to collect money from land brokers.
The Lal Mandal has also been arrested and identified as Gulzar Hussain of the Thelamara Revenue Circle.

Gulzar Hussain was arrested on September 27 while accepting bribe from a complainant in Guwahati.
