Four cadres belonging to the NLFT (PD) have surrendered before the Tripura police along with arms, ammunition and foreign currencies.

Four NLFT (PD) militants– Doberam Reang, 47, Sailendra Reang, 22, Samprai Debbarma, 46, and Subhalal Tripura, 22, surrendered before the police on Friday, said a statement.

The four militants fled the Jupui NLFT (PD) camp of the outfit under Bagaichari police station in the Rangamati district of Bangladesh and surrendered to the Special Branch of police Friday, it said.

They deposited one revolver (US-made), one factory-made gun, one Chinese grenade, four bullets, three extortion notes and 800 Bangladeshi Taka.

They joined NLFT (PD) in 2019 in Bangladesh NLFT Camp. Police said the NLFT (PD) is facing a serious financial crisis in its bases in Bangladesh.

Earlier on September 15, three NLFT (PD) extremists–Alindra Reang, 25, Anida Reang , 35, and Draw Kumar Reang, 30 surrendered before the police.

They deposited one 22-pistol and four live ammunition.
