The Nagaland industries and commerce department, along with the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Agricultural and Export Products Development Authority of India and Directorate General of Foreign Trade, will organise a two-day trade and export promotion event and exhibition to promote trade and export of local agriculture and horticulture produces, processed food products, handloom and handicrafts and various exportable products from the state.

The event called “Vanijya Utsav” will be held Urban Haat in Dimapur from September 21. 

The event, with a focus to promote economic growth and showcase export potentials of Nagaland, is being organised as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav”, a celebration to commemorate the 75th year of Independence. 

Nagaland adviser to industries and commerce, labour and employment and skill development and entrepreneurship Imnatiba Jamir will inaugurate the programme.

Local exhibitors will showcase various local produces and products during the event. 

Resource persons and speakers from various central and state government departments, export promotion councils, Export Import Bank and eminent entrepreneurs will share various prospects of exports and assistances available to support and uplift entrepreneurs to take their business further. 

The event will also be streamed live online as there will be many interested persons from across the state who will not be able to participate in it physically, sources said.
