The ULFA (I) has demanded permanent jobs for indigenous candidates of Assam in ONGC, OIL and IOCL.

In a statement issued on Friday, the proscribed outfit said it would carry out armed operations against the three Oil companies if they don’t fulfil their demands.

Instead of contractual jobs, the ONGC, OIL and IOCL must provide permanent jobs to the indigenous candidates of the, said the ULFA (I).

“We would like to make it clear that there will not be any option but to launch armed resistance against the Oil companies if they continue their anti-Assamese approach,” ULFA (I) publicity wing member Rumel Asom said.

The banned outfit further demanded the companies to make public as to how much resource have been extracted out of Assam since their inception and what percentage of their profits has been received by Assam so far.

The outfit has also demanded the appointment of an experienced indigenous person to the post of managing director in OIL.

Earlier in May, the outfit demanded 95% job reservation for indigenous candidates of Assam in ONGC, OIL and IOCL.
