Meghalaya state planning board chairman and MLA Lambor Malngiang meets Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga on Wednesday.

Meghalaya state planning board chairman and MLA Lambor Malngiang on Wednesday called on Mizoram chief minister and state planning board chairman Zoramthanga at the latter’s office in Aizawl, an official statement said.

Both the leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including economic development for both states, the statement said.

During an interaction, Malngiang expressed hope that the bond between the two northeastern states will continue to flourish, it said.

He informed the Mizoram chief minister that he works closely with the Mizo communities and many sub-tribes of Mizoram in his constituency.

He also expressed his optimism for an enduring friendship and partnership in all sectors.

Zoramthanga on his part echoed the importance of nurturing good relations between the two states.

He assured the visiting leader that his government will do its best in case any situation arises where Mizoram can assist Meghalaya.

After his meeting with Zoramthanga, Malngiang also called on Mizoram planning board vice chairman H. Rammawi followed and leaders of leading NGOs in the state.

He was accompanied by Meghalaya state planning board exper member and economist Dr. Krishna Chauhan and law department official Enrich GL Nongbri.
