As many as six to eight cadres of the dreaded Manipur-based insurgent outfit – People’s Liberation Army (PLA) have been killed due to internal clashes in Myanmar.
Highly placed sources confirmed this correspondent about the development saying that the clashes broke out at the Nayang Wakathan camp of the NSCN-KYA in Myanmar, which is located opposite the Pangsau Pass in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The slain PLA militants were lodged at the NSCN-KYA camp at Nayang Wakathan, following an arrangement between the two outfits.
Six PLA militants who were killed in the clashes have been identified as Boycha, Leimba, Angamba, Tanthouba, Tomcha and Suresh.

The slain militants hailed from Thoubal and Kakching districts of Manipur.
According to sources, the militants who were killed in the clashes were mulling to shun violence and return to the mainstream.
“They had decided to return to the mainstream and left the camp. Following this, the other PLA members dispatched a search party to take them back to the camp. This then led to the internal clash,” sources informed this correspondent.
