Displaced Brus at the Kaskao relief camp in North Tripura’s Damcherra village reportedly clashed with locals, resulting in injuries to thirteen people. 

The clash broke out after locals objected to opening of roadside shops by the displaced Brus from the camp. 

After a heated altercation, the locals and the Brus clashed using sticks and matchets. 

The police had to resort to firing in the air and baton-charge to bring the situation under control.

A total of thirteen people sustained injuries in the clash and were admitted to Dharmanagar hospital for treatment. 

Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the area with additional deployment of forces. 

According to local police officials, the situation is now under control. 

Section 144 has been imposed in the area following the clash.
