The opposition Naga People’s Front in Nagaland on Monday has effected a reshuffle in its media cell.

NPF press bureau, central headquarters, Kohima in a release said party president Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu has on Monday elevated Sebastian Zumvu, press secretary of the party to media advisor to the NPF president in the rank of general secretary and associate press secretary Atou Liezietsu to the post of press secretary of the party.

Sapralu Nyekha was appointed as associate press secretary earlier this year while Phushika Awomi, former associate press secretary was also earlier promoted to general secretary of the party. Awomi is a former president of Naga Students’ Federation.

Zumvu is a senior journalist in the state. He was founder-publisher of the now-defunct daily newspaper The Northeast Herald. He also served as the press secretary to Nagaland Chief Minister from 1998 to 2003 and as OSD to the Governor of Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat from 2004 to 2010.

Zumvu joined the NPF in 2013 and had held various positions in the party since then. He was also the press secretary to Chief Ministers TR Zeliang and Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu. His short stories and poems are used in English literature subject in several universities in the region, the release stated.

Atou is a former correspondent of a local English daily while Nyekha is a post graduate in English literature and a diploma holder in Mass Communications.
