Nagaland, on Thursday, reported 132 new Covid positive cases and 97 recoveries. There was no report of any death due to the infection during the day. 

The Health and Family Welfare Department said Dimapur recorded 18 fresh cases, Kiphire 7, Kohima 72, Longleng 2, Mokokchung 26, Peren 2, Tuensang 4 and Wokha 1. 

Of the 97 recoveries, Dimapur registered 28, Kohima 13, Longleng 1, Mokokchung 28, Mon 11, Peren 3, Phek 4 and Zunheboto 9. 

Meanwhile, the Dimapur Municipal Council administrator Elbert Ezung today said a two-day free vaccination camp, especially for shopkeepers and vegetable vendors, will be held from 10 am to 3 pm from July 19 at Jain Hospital at Kalibari Road and Lions Club Dimapur. Ezung urged all the traders, shopkeepers and vegetable vendors to get vaccinated.

On Wednesday, the Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department had directed fast track vaccination of all shopkeepers and vendors on priority basis. 

Principal Director of the department Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao, in an order, asked the chief medical officers and medical superintendents of all the districts to take necessary steps to ensure fast track vaccination of the shopkeepers and vegetable vendors. 

Khimiao also directed all the health workers in both public and private hospitals who have not been vaccinated to produce Covid-19 negative test certificate after every 15 days as and when they report for duties to ensure safety of patients, coworkers and community. 

He further instructed the District Task Force of respective districts to ensure that the private hospitals follow the directions.
