The Tripura government has made an effort to make the learning process more attractive for students through the initiative “Prayas” as part of which special workbooks will be provided to them.
These workbooks have been designed in a manner to help students to perform various cognitive tasks and solve problems through various activities.
The Tripura government will be spending Rs 6.21 crore for printing 22.45 lakh books in 85 titles.
There are about 6.75 lakh students from Class I to XII in Tripura.
Further, these books will be made available to students entirely free of cost.

“Our government has taken steps to make education more attractive for students through the new project Prayas,” said Tripura education minister Ratan Lal Nath.
“The State Council of Educational Research and Training and district education officers have already started working on these workbooks with the help of eminent teachers of the state,” he said.
The workbooks that are being prepared for students of classes VI to VIII include science, mathematics, English, Bengali and sociology.
In addition, workbooks on these five subjects are also being prepared for IXth and Xth standard students.
Workbooks on English, Bengali, accounting, physics, chemistry, economics and mathematics are also being prepared for students of classes XI and XII.
“This is the first time that these workbooks are being provided to students for free. The state department of education is trying to complete the distribution of workbooks by September this year,” Nath said.
