Executive member of health and family welfare department of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Arup K Dey on Tuesday said that doctors and other medical staff will be soon appointed to fill up vacant posts in all rural health centres in Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
Dey on Tuesday visited rural health centres in Chirang district on to assess the problems facing these centres.
He was accompanied by member of council legislative assembly, Madhav Chandra Chetry and other senior officials.
Dey visited the Gurubhasa State Dispensary and took the stock of its condition.
He held a meeting with the management committee of the state dispensary, party workers and local intellectuals to find solutions to address the various problems facing health centres.

“We will soon appoint doctors and other medical staff to fill up the vacant posts in all rural health centres of BTR,” said Dey.
The construction of health centres and staff quarters in rural areas would be soon completed, he further said.
The management committee of the Gurubhasa State Dispensary also submitted a five-point memorandum to Dey on the occasion.
Dey also visited the Runikhata State Dispensary, Shantipur State Dispensary and Hatisar Primary Health centres along the Indo-Bhutan international border in Chirang district.
