The civil hospital at Tura in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district now has two new oxygen generation plants much to the relief of Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment there.

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the oxygen plants at the civil hospital on Tuesday.

The oxygen plants have been funded by the Indian Embassy at Tokyo in Japan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The chief minister said that the oxygen plants will ensure round-the-clock oxygen supply for Covid-19 patients suffering from respiratory distress.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya health minister Sh. M Syiem also inaugurated the oxygen plant at the civil hospital in Nongpoh on Tuesday.

This plant has also been funded by UNDP and the Indian Embassy in Tokyo.
