The ongoing eviction drives against all kinds of illegal structures across Dhubri district will be intensified if the authorities concerned face threats from any quarter, food and civil supply minister Ranjit Kumar Dass said on Saturday.

Dass who is also the in-charge of Dhubri, was in the district today to attend review meetings with the deputy commissioner.

“No one will be able to get away with making threats. The eviction drives will be intensified if the authorities are threatened,” the minister said.

Dass has once again appealed to the affluent families to give up their ration cards to let the needy ones to avail themselves of the benefits.

The minister further urged the families with more than Rs 1 lakh annual income to surrender their ration card by July this year.
