The Manipur Government has extended COVID curfew in the State’s seven districts for another 14 (fourteen) days. 

The districts in Manipur where curfew has been extended are: Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, ThoubalKakchingChurachandpur and Ukhrul. 

The curfew in the seven districts of Manipur will continue till June 11 “with some additional permitted activities”. 

The local vegetable markets in these districts have been allowed to open for 3 hours between 7am and 10am on May 30, June 2, June 5 and June 8.

“Only one out of three grocery shops of the total shops/vendors in one location shall be allowed to open on rotational basis from 7am to 10am on 30/05/2021, 02/06/2021, 05,06/2021 and 08/06/2021,” a Manipur Government notification read. 

“All secretariat offices to start functioning with e-office and physical attendance 15% staff from 01/06/2021,” the notification added. 

“All directorate offices to start functioning with physical attendance 15% staff from 01/06/2021by taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour,” the notification further read.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 situation in Manipur continues to be grim. 

As many as 13 more COVID-19 deaths and 732 new positive cases were detected in Manipur on Friday. 

The new 13 deaths have pushed Manipur’s COVID-19 death toll up to 761. 

Moreover, the active cases tally in the State has risen to 7602.
