Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane has said that there “no de-escalation can take place before disengagement” with China in Eastern Ladakh sector.
“India is very clear, no de-escalation can take place before disengagement at all friction points,” Army Chief General MM Naravane told news agency PTI on Ladakh standoff with China.
Army Chief General MM Naravane further stated that the Indian Army won’t allow any “unilateral change in status quo” along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China.
“Indian Army is very clear that no unilateral change in status quo will be permitted,” said General Naravane on Ladakh standoff with China.

The Army chief further said the situation along India’s northern border is “under control”.
“Situation along India’s northern border is under control,” Army Chief Gen Naravane said.
“We are dealing with the Chinese in a firm and non-escalatory way, ensuring sanctity to our claims in eastern Ladakh,” added General Naravane.
“Our troops holding important areas, we’ve adequate strength in form of reserves to react to any contingency,” informed the Indian Army chief.
“Though we want peace, tranquility at LAC and are open to confidence-building measures, we remain prepared for all contingencies,” added General MM Naravane.
“As two professional armies, it is imperative we resolve the situation to restore trust at the earliest.”
“Trust levels bound to be low in major standoff between two countries leading to casualties on both sides,” said General Naravane.
“Strength of troops on both sides at present is more or less what it was last year. As long as disengagement process is honoured, chances of any untoward incident are low,” expressed General MM Naravane.
