Tripura on Tuesday reported 11 COVID-19 deaths, which is the all time highest single day number. 

The state also reported 466 fresh COVID-19 cases, which is also the highest single day surge in the second wave of the pandemic. 

The rate of infection has also increased due to an increase in the number of samples tested. 

What’s worrying is the fact that the list of the dead includes people from the younger age group. 

Meanwhile, 137 people have recovered from corona infection in the State in the last 24 hours.

At present, there are 2917 active coronaviruses in Tripura. 

According to the media bulletin of the health department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 6288 samples including 1081 RT-PCR and 5207 Rapid Antigen tested were conducted, of these, 54 infections were found in RT-PCR and 412 in rapid antigen.  

However, there is also news of slight relief.  

A total of 38,158 people have been infected with corona in Tripura so far.  

Of them, 34,761 have recovered from the infection.  

At present, the corona infection rate in Tripura is 5.02 percent.

Similarly, the recovery rate is 91.24 percent.  

According to the health department, the West district continues to be at the top of the list of infections.  

In the last 24 hours, 271 people have been infected in the West district, 39 in the South district, 14 in Gomati district, 29 in Dhalai district, 42 in Sepahijala district, 36 in North Tripura district, 28 in Unakoti district and 7 in Khowai district.
