Assam’s COVID-19 situation continues to deteriorate.

As many as 85 deaths have been reported in Assam in the last 24 hours.

This has pushed Assam’s COVID-19 death toll up to 1838.

Moreover, Assam in the last 24 hours has registered over 6000 new COVID-19 cases.

As many as 6258 new COVID-19 cases have been detected in Assam.

These new 6258 new COVID-19 cases in Assam have been detected at a high positivity rate of 9.13 percent.

These 6258 new COVID-19 cases have been detected after conducting tests of 68572 samples.

Of these new 6258 COVID-19 cases, 1585 cases have been detected in and around Guwahati city.

Meanwhile, the State’s COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 86.06 percent.

On the other hand, Putting all speculations to rest, newly appointed Health Minister of Assam – Keshav Mahanta, said that the State Government is not planning to impose lockdown in the State as of yet.

“There are no plans of imposing lockdown in the State as of yet,” said Assam Health Minister Keshav Mahanta.

However, Keshav Mahanta said that the State Government and administration will introduce more stricter measures in the State to bring the COVID-19 situation under control.
