Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad has tested positive for COVID-19. 

Ganga Prasad tested positive for COVID-19 on late Tuesday evening. 

Notably, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad had earlier took both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine. 

The Sikkim Governor tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing mild symptoms. 

Ganga Prasad informed that his medical condition is stable and is currently under home isolation. 

The Sikkim Governor has further urged all who came in contact with him recently to get themselves tested.

Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad said: “I was having mild symptoms and tested positive for Covid-19 today. I request everyone who came in close contact with me over last few days to isolate themselves and get tested. I am stable and under the supervision of doctor at home isolation.” 

However, Ganga Prasad’s wife and first lady of Sikkim – Kamala Prasad’s COVID-19 test results returned negative. 

Notably, Sikkim’s COVID-19 scenario has worsened in the last couple of weeks. 

Sikkim on Tuesday registered 97 new COVID-19 cases and 1 related death.

The Himalayan State’s active cases tally now stands at 982. 

Meanwhile, Sikkim Government has announced that all Ggovernment offices and public sector undertakings (PSUs) will remain closed for 3 days – from Wednesday (April 28) till April 30.
