A TIPRA Motha supporter has been killed in Jarulbachai in West Tripura district.

The victim has been identified as Bishwa Lakshmi Debbarma, a resident of Trish Chandra Para area of Jarulbachai on Sunday.

The woman’s body was discovered in a garden near her residence on Sunday evening.

Locals alleged that the murder of the victim was politically motivated as she was a supporter of TIPRA Motha.

Superintendent of police of West Tripura, Manik Das said that the murder occurred because of existing political differences between two families.

According to police sources, the 45-year-old victim’s husband Kamal Debbarma had a quarrel with Sanjoy Debbarma over politics.
