Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has tested positive for COVID- 19.

The development has been confirmed by Tripura CM Biplab Deb himself.

After having tested positive for COVID-19, Tripura CM Biplab Deb has placed himself under home quarantine.

“I have been tested positive for COVID-19. I have isolated myself at home as per the advice of doctors. I request everyone to please follow all the COVID appropriate behaviour and stay safe,” Biplab Deb tweeted.

It may be mentioned here that the Union Health Ministry has stated that COVID-19 is spreading in India at fast pace.

The Union Health Ministry stated that COVID-19 is spreading in India at a faster pace compared to last year.

The next four weeks are very critical, the Health Ministry said.

NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr VK Paul said the pandemic situation in the country has worsened with a sharp rise in cases and a large part of the population is still susceptible to the virus.

Meanwhile, 630 COVID-19 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours in India, the highest single-day toll since November 5.

India on Tuesday recorded the highest one-day spike of COVID-19 cases at 1.07 lakh.

The number of daily cases in India breached the 1-lakh mark for the second time in three days.

The COVID-19 caseload in India has seen massive surge in the past couple of weeks.
