Three female bikers including Nirmali Nath from Assam, Onen Nenty from Nagaland and Rosalynn Lushai from Mizoram for a tour in the Northeast.

According to reports, the bikers are all set to complete the tour covering 7 Northeast states including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.

After flagging off in Guwahati on Saturday the bikers will first move towards Shillong and halt at Silchar for a night.

From Silchar, the bikers will head towards Agartala, the state capital of Tripura.

After Agartala, the bikers will head towards Aizawl, the capital of Mizoram, where they will halt for the day.

Their next stop will be at Jiribam in Manipur before heading towards Imphal.

From Imphal, the capital of Manipur, the bikers will move towards Kohima in Nagaland and then to Dimapur bordering Assam.

From Dimapur, they will ride towards Tezpur in Assam’s Sonitpur district.

Then the bikers will head to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh, the final destination.

As per the schedule, the bike tour will be flagged in at Kaziranga National Park.

The bikers said they will use the opportunity to ‘break stereotypes and redefine the Northeast.’

A report quoted Onen as saying, “At the outset, I would like to thank our almighty for giving me this opportunity and the privilege to go on this tour with these two amazing ladies.”

“I would also like to dedicate this ride to my mom who passed away this year in January,” she added.

She said the tour was planned to tell the stories of what the Northeast states look like after the Covid19 pandemic and they are using the term “redefining Northeast”.

“As women, we want to see changes in society for the women folks across the world, the three of us are here to break the shackles in the minds of the women in our region and we want to tell them that the kitchen is not the only place where a woman belongs,” she added.
