Amid the Assam Assembly election, there was an incident of fire at the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati.
Sources said the incident of fire was reported at the ISBT in Guwahati at around 8.20 pm, and two buses were badly damaged in the fire.
While the cause of the fire could not be ascertained, fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the flame.
Operations of bus services remained affected, the sources said.
Sources said the buses, which caught fire at Guwahati ISBT, located at Garchuk, were standing abandoned in the ISBT complex for a long period.
The privately-owned buses were operated under Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC).
The registration number of the vehicles, one of which was a city bus, have been identified as AS01-BC-9750 and AS01-HC-0776.
