Arunachal Pradesh has featured among the top seven performing states in Indian in terms of providing clean potable water to the public under the Jal Jeevan Mision (JJM)-Har Ghar Jal.
As such the state has received a performance incentive of Rs 90 crores.
While Gujarat has been adjudged the best performing, the other five states are Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh.
Union Jal Shakti minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat had approved Rs. 465 crore as a performance incentive to these seven states.
Speaking on the occasion, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu said that this performance momentum to the state government’s target to provide 100 per cent tap water connections in all rural areas by 2023.

Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh government had started India’s first solar-based Integrated Multi-Village Water Supply Project (IMVWSP) in Lower Dibang Valley district.
The water supply project, worth Rs 28.50 crore will provide potable water in 39 villages the state.
The project has been designed to provide drinking water to 17,480 people.
