With the anti-incumbency and unemployment factors going against the ruling BJP government in the ensuing Assam Assembly elections, the party has brought in star campaigner Manoj Tiwari to campaign for incumbent Tinsukia MLA Sanjay Kishan.

The popular Bojpuri singer turned politician took part in road shows in Tinsukia, which is home to a considerable Bhojpuri population.

Manoj Tiwari said, “With open hands, I asked voters to vote for Sanjay Kishan. This is my second visit to Tinsukia and the people here love me.”

Tiwari asked for the people to vote by playing in the BJP-led government’s tall claims of ushering in development and change in the Tinsukia district.

The Congress-led grand alliance has placed Hira Devi as the RJD candidate in the Tinsukia constituency.

Kishan, Assam’s minister of state for tea tribe welfare hails from the tea tribe community while Hira Devi belongs to the Bojpuri community.

Tinsukia is dominated by Hindi speaking community and in past elections, many political parties have given tickets to Hindi-speaking people.
