Oil India Limited, Pipeline Headquarters, Guwahati was conferred first prize for excellent performance shown towards implementing and promoting the official language during the year 2016-17 for Northeast region.

Jayanta Barua,  DGM,  Liaison and Communications,  OIL said that the prestigious Rajbhasha Shield was received by  Bijon Kumar Mishra, Chief General Manager (Pipeline Services) from Kiren Rijuju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, in the presence of Brijesh Mehrotra,  Secretary, Departments of Official Language, Union Ministry of Home Affairs  in a joint Rajbhasha Sammelan and prize distribution ceremony organised for Eastern and  Northeast region on Saturday at Samrat Ashok convention centre, Gyan Bhawan in Patna.

Narayan Sharma, Manager (Official Language) received the Commendations letter. Barua said that this was for the fifth consecutive time that OIL Pipeline Headquarters had received the award.

The Rajbhasha Shields are awarded every year as a policy matter by Ministry of Home Affairs (Department of Official Language) to the Govt. of India offices, Public Sector Undertakings, banks, etc., for promotion and Implementation of Rajbhasha.

OIL, Pipeline Headquarters has received this award in the PSU category.
