A biker was killed when he was hit by a car from behind on the Chandmari flyover in Guwahati.
According to eyewitnesses, the biker was waiting on the road in front of the Guwahati Artists’ Guild at Chandmari in the city on Tuesday night when he was hit by a Maruti Swift car coming from the All India Radio (AIR) Station side towards Gauhati Commerce College.
The biker was seriously injured as the car with registration no AS01-DV-4330 hit him.
After hitting the biker, the car also smashed the railing along the road.
The youth was immediately taken to the hospital by the traffic police of Chandmari police station.
However, he was declared dead by the doctors.
As the news of the accident spread like wildfire, locals gathered at the accident site and caught the driver of the car and roughed up him.
Later they handed over the driver to the Chandmari police.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be known.
