Union minister of state for food processing industries Rameswar Teli inaugurated an Ayurveda festival at the Chowkidinghee playground in Dibrugarh on Saturday.
The event, 4th Emerging Northeast 2021, organised in partnership with the ministry of Ayush and ASSOCHAM, has been organised to showcase the benefits of Ayurveda medicinal plants, spices, herbs, tea, nutraceuticals for the benefit of the people.
Inaugurating the event, Union minister Teli said, “Global disruption due to the Covid pandemic has opened avenues for the deep-rooted ancient knowledge and treasure trove of medicinal plants used in our ancient system of treatment as an answer to the challenges of Covid.”
“I congratulate ASSOCHAM for taking this timely and much-needed initiative to connect industry, research and academia to collectively work for raising the potential of Ayurveda herbs and spices from the region,” Teli added.
The festival is offering comprehensive knowledge on Ayurveda with immunity with display of health-boosting products and medicinal plants.
The expo is offering free clinic service with government-appointed doctors and experts.
ASSOCHAM regional director, East & Northeast, Perminder Jeet Kaur said, “Covid has awakened us all about the importance of health care as a national priority and also made the world aware about the virtue of yoga, Ayurveda and traditional medicine.”
