One person was arrested in Kohima for allegedly duping people with promises of jobs in the Nagaland police department, a Kohima police release said today.
The arrested Ravozo Medeo (24) was presently residing at Mission Compound, Kohima, the release said.
It said the preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused had issued fake appointment letters with forged signatures of a certain high-ranking officer at Police Headquarters in Kohima and that of a superintendent of police of a district.
A case has been registered with the North police station in Kohima in this connection.
The Kohima police appealed to the people to be cautious of such fraudsters and to report such cases to the police.
