Agitating teachers on Monday staged a protest carrying the body of a deceased teacher in front of the Tripura education department building in Agartala.
Ajit Sutradhar, a teacher died on Monday after suffering from a brain stroke.
As soon as the news of his death spread, the protesting teachers rushed to the hospital where had been taken.
They also paid floral tributes to Sutradhar.
Sutradhar hailed from Nayanamura in Chandrapur and had lost his job in March last year.
According to locals, Sutradhar was depressed and often worried about running his family in absence of a source of income.

He had taught for ten years before losing his job.
During the protest, the teachers shouted slogans against the state government and state education department.
They also had an altercation with security officers and officials of the state education department.
The teachers then made their way to the Battala crematorium ground to cremate the body of Sutradhar.
A total of 10323 teachers had lost their jobs in March last year following a verdict of the Supreme Court that termed their recruitment process faulty.
The former CPI(M) state government had recruited these teachers in 2017.
So far, 84 of these sacked teachers have died in Tripura.
The BJP state government had assured these teachers before the 2018 assembly polls that they would solve their problems after coming to power in Tripura.
However, the government has failed to provide to them so far.
“We have been protesting for the past for the 50 days. The state education minister is asking us to sit for competitive examinations, which is not possible for us now,” said Dalia Das, an agitating teacher.
“Various organizations have been repeatedly asking the government to address the issue of teachers from a humanitarian point of view, but no government representative has approached us,” Das said.
The teachers have asked the Tripura government to respond to their demands by Monday or else they will launch their movement in a more aggressive manner.
