Amid massive hyping by the Centre and State Government in regards to infrastructure development and road connectivity in the Frontier State of Arunachal Pradesh, Governor Brig (Retd) BD Mishra has urged the Centre to develop infrastructure along the India-China border in the State.
Governor BD Mishra made this request while speaking at the 69th plenary session of the North East Council (NEC) in Shillong on Saturday.
He said, “Better road connectivity is a must for the State which has difficult terrain and high mountains.”
Governor BD Mishra also highlighted the need for increasing the number of Advanced Landing Grounds (ALGs) in the State.
Currently Arunachal Pradesh has a total of 8 ALGs.
The Arunachal Pradesh Governor further underlined the need for construction of good foot suspension bridges in remote locations of the State to improve mobility of Army troopers in times of emergency.

BD Mishra requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who chaired the NEC session, to continue providing “necessary help for the development of Arunachal Pradesh”.
Sparking about the present law and order situation in Arunachal Pradesh, Governor BD Mishra said that the State Government is putting in its best of efforts to maintain peace and tranquillity and strengthening the police set up in the State.
“The State Government actively attending to law and order situation in the three districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding and four police stations of Namsai, Roing, Mahadevpur and Sunpura which are under the Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA),” the Arunachal Pradesh Governor said.
