With an aim of empowering the youths of the State to become self-reliant, the Assam Government on Friday launched its flagship scheme “Redesigned Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment” (Re-SVAYEM) in Dibrugarh.
The scheme was launched in Dibrugarh by Assam State Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Jogen Mohan.
The scheme which is believed to benefit around 2 lakh youths in Assam with Rs 50 thousand each was launched in Dibrugarh on Friday at a function held at DHSK College auditorium.
A total of 1258 Self-help groups will be benefitted with the scheme in Dibrugarh district.
Speaking on the occasion, Jogen Mohan asserted that the scheme would help the youths to develop their entrepreneurship skills and become self-reliant.
The function was also attended by MLAs Prashanta Phukan, Rituparna Baruah and Chakradhar Gogoi.
Vice-Chairperson of Assam State Women Commission – Dr Hemoprava Borthakur, CEM of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council – Dipu Ranjan Makrari, Chairman of Assam Petro-Chemicals – Bikul Deka were also in attendance during the function.
The function was also attended by Vice- Chairman of Assam Gas Co – Indra Gogoi, Chairman of Dibrugarh Development Authority – Ashim Hazarika and Dibrugarh DC – Pallav Gopal Jha, among other dignitaries.
