Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Wednesday expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ministry of Development for North Eastern Region (DoNER) minister, Jitendra Singh for approving the Mawshynrut to Hahim road project.

The 37 km road connecting Mawshynrut in Meghalaya’s West Khasi Hills district to Hahim in Assam will be constructed with a fund of Rs 99.76 crores.

DoNER will fund the project that will improve connectivity between the two neighbouring states.

“Gratitude to Hon’ble PM @narendramodi Ji & @DrJitendraSingh Ji for approving the Mawshynrut to Hahim 37 Kms Road Project at ?99.76 Cr under #NERSDS of @MDoNER_India, connecting #West Khasi Hills District, #Meghalaya closer to Hahim & Boko in #Assam,” tweeted Conrad Sangma on Wednesday.

The chief minister had last year met Union minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari to discuss four road projects including the Mawshynrut to Hahim road project.

Gadkari had assured him of all assistance from the centre to implement these road projects in Meghalaya.
