The 34 Assam Rifles, Aina battalion on Wednesday observed the Vijay Diwas by organizing a weapon display programme for local youths along the Manipur-Mizoram border in Manipur.

Vijay Day is celebrated to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Indo-Pak war in 1971.

The Assam Rifles organized the programme to motivate the youths of Parbung and Senvawn villages along the Manipur – Mizoram border to join the Indian army.

About 70 students, teachers and officials of the local administration of the Tipaimukh sub-division attended the programme.

The programme also included an interactive session during which the participants exchanged ideas on different relevant issues.

During the event, Assam Rifles personnel sensitized the students on the significance of Vijay Diwas and played of informative and motivational videos to inspire them to join the armed forces.
