Meghalaya BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai, who was earlier eyeing for a Cabinet berth in the MDA government, has decided to support his colleague AL Hek to continue as minister till the end of the term.

Shullai has sent a letter to BJP national president JP Nadda stating that in the interest of the party (BJP) and the people of the state, AL Hek should continue as minister till the completion of the term.

Shullai termed Hek as a respectable man in the state and among the electorates.

Hek is currently serving as the health minister in the current NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government in Meghalaya.

The development has taken place at a time when a tussle is going on between the Meghalaya BJP and the MDA government over various issues.
